Thanks to the unwanted visitor lock, the cat flap only allows entry to cats that carry a special "PetSafe Magnetic Collar Key". The key - a collar tag that should be attached to your pet's collar - is included in the set. When the cat approaches the entrance and the key gets close to the bottom edge of the tunnel, the magnetic mechanism unlocks the flap. This principle only applies when the animal enters the house (exiting does not require a key). The set includes 1 collar key, but owners of multiple cats can purchase additional ones separately.

Magnets around the edge of the flap and the frame opening hold the flap securely in place, which helps prevent excess air from getting in from outside. How to teach your pet to use the cat flap?
After installing the flap, leave it open for a while (you can secure it with a piece of string and tape to the surface above. Make sure the flap doesn't fall accidentally, as this could startle your pet). Encourage the animal to pass through the opening using its favorite food or treats. First, feed your pet by the flap on the inside, then by the flap on the outside. Practice until the animal passes through the opening without hesitation. Then repeat the training with the flap lowered so your pet learns to push the flap to get through. Pet and reward your animal every time it passes through the flap. You can also incorporate play into the training, for example by threading a cat teaser toy through the opening.
