PetSafe Extreme Weather Aluminium Pet Door is a simple accessory designed for installation in doors or walls, giving your pet the freedom and independence they deserve. Metal pet door for dogs and cats with thermal insulation and aluminium reinforcement allows your pet to enter and leave the house at any time. Winter or summer, frost or heat - the triple flap with a central thermal insulation layer blocks the inflow of extremely cold or warm air from outside, protecting your interior from very high and low temperatures up to 3.5 times more effectively than standard pet doors. The metal frame with reinforced aluminium corners makes the door ultra-durable, resistant to extreme weather conditions, and ideal for households with multiple pets. When the passage is not in use, you can cover it with a slide-in closing panel.

The pet door operates on a very simple principle. Your pet simply pushes the triple-layer flap with their body - the flap lifts up and closes automatically once the animal has passed through the opening. The Extreme Weather Aluminium Pet Door offers 2 setting options: the flap opens inward and outward, or is fully locked. If you want to temporarily prevent your pet from leaving the house, or conversely, keep them outside, you can cover the passage at any time using the snap-on closing panel that attaches to the door frame. Importantly, the flap does not swing back and forth but stops flush with the frame, and the built-in magnet holds it firmly in place. This closing system prevents excessive air exchange while your pet passes through the opening.

The thermally insulated pet door for cats and dogs is available in three sizes - M, L, and XL. It can be installed in panel, wooden, metal, and PVC doors with a thickness of 3.8-5 cm (for thinner doors, use an adapter - see the Note section below). The metal collar around the opening creates a safe tunnel through the passage. Installation is straightforward, and the included cutting template and screws will help you with the process. The pet door can be used by animals weighing up to 100 kg (for the XL size).

How to teach your pet to use the door?
After installing the pet door, leave the flap open for a while (you can secure it with a piece of string and tape to the surface above. Make sure the flap does not fall accidentally, as this may startle your pet). Encourage your pet to pass through the opening using their favourite food or treats. First, feed the animal by the door on the inside, then by the door on the outside. Practise until your pet walks through the passage without hesitation. Then repeat the training with the flap lowered so your pet learns to push the door open to get through. Pet and reward your animal every time they pass through the door. You can also incorporate play into the training, for example by throwing a dog ball through the opening or threading a cat teaser wand through it.
