Attaching the harness to the seatbelt:
Put the harness on your dog, making sure to achieve a precise fit using the four-point adjustment. The harness should be neither too tight nor too loose. Then thread the straps located at the back of the harness through both parts of the seatbelt (the straps that would normally run across the chest and lap on a person).
