While there are special carriers designed for safe pet transport, most of us (especially small dog owners) prefer to keep our pet close by, within reach. That's why Hurtta decided to create the Hurtta Travel Harness Eco - a travel harness for dogs, designed specifically for use in cars. It took 3 years of development and 10 different crash tests, including those used for child car seats. Dynamic crash tests were conducted in accordance with ECE R44.04 test conditions in Finland (Oy Klippan AB) and China (CATARC Automotive Component Test Center Co., Ltd). The harness design allows it to be attached to the car's existing seat belts. During sudden braking or an accident, the seat belt retractors lock and hold the dog close to the seat. This keeps your pet in place, preventing them from sliding uncontrollably around the car interior. Your pet can travel however they prefer: sitting, standing, or lying down. Thanks to a sturdy metal D-ring, you can attach a leash and use the harness as a regular walking harness. The opening through which you thread the car seat belt also serves as a handle for holding your dog.

Adjustments at the chest, neck, and waist allow you to precisely fit the Travel Harness to your dog's body shape. The outer layer is made of soft, waterproof neoprene covered with a durable polyester fabric. The underside of the harness is lined with breathable air-mesh netting that ensures good ventilation. All straps are made from stretch-resistant and tear-resistant nylon. The harness is very comfortable to use and extremely easy to put on and take off. It fastens with strong metal buckles. A reflective tag ensures visibility.

The harness has been tested for reliable, long-term use. Tensile strength and durability at critical stress points have been ensured through the use of reinforced stitching and confirmed by certification meeting the strength requirements for harnesses under SFS-EN ISO 13934-1. The materials used in production are free from toxic substances and meet the strict Bluesign® standards, which focus on sustainable chemistry to ensure the highest level of safety for people, animals, and the environment. Metal hardware has been tested for corrosion resistance in accordance with EN ISO 9227:2017 (E).
