When brushing out a dog’s matted fur, keep the following tips in mind:

• The coat should be damp to make the process painless - ideally with a specialized detangling spray.

• Hold the fur at the base, close to the skin, to avoid pulling and causing discomfort to your pet.

• In the case of severe matting, gently break up the mat with your fingers or use a dematting tool first, then follow up with a comb.
